Hong Kong, SAR – 30, June 2023 -  The Hong Kong government announced the establishment of the Task Force on promoting Web3 development. Chaired by the Financial Secretary, the Task Force comprises 15 non-official members from the relevant market sectors, with the participation of key government officials and financial regulators concerned.

As some of our Committee Co-Chairs have become board members, we are starting the process of finding and determining new Co-Chairs. We kindly invite members interested in taking a leading role in our FTAHK to fill out the nomination form. 

Recently, the FinTech Association of Hong Kong's Chairman, Neil Tan, was interviewed by CGTN Europe regarding the newly announced Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) of the regulatory framework for Virtual Asset Trading Platform (VATP) license that extends Crypto licensing to retail access and not just professional or institutional investors.

This trip explored Dubai’s potential as a B2B FinTech hub (especially but not limited to the Digital Assets space), connected with entrepreneurs, businesses and investors in the UAE as well as enable our members to showcase what the HK FinTech ecosystem offers. ​Our members learnt from UAE-based FinTech companies, lawyers, regulators and (Digital Asset) ecosystem stakeholders. ​
