Neil Tan appointed to Hong Kong Web3 Task Force

Hong Kong, SAR – 30, June 2023 -  The Hong Kong government announced the establishment of the Task Force on promoting Web3 development. Chaired by the Financial Secretary, the Task Force comprises 15 non-official members from the relevant market sectors, with the participation of key government officials and financial regulators concerned. Our FinTech Association of Hong Kong's Chairman, Neil Tan, was selected to be part of this trail-blazing task force and we look forward to seeing growth and development of Web3 innovation under his leadership along with the rest of the Task Force members.

The primary objective of the Task Force is to provide recommendations on the sustainable and responsible development of Web3 in Hong Kong. Recognizing the prevalent trend of Web3 development, the Task Force is Premised on a balance between appropriate regulation and promoting development in order to cement Hong Kong's place as a leading Web3 hub in the world.
