As part of the Asia Financial Forum’s International Financial Week (#IFW), FTAHK organised an over-subscribed event hosted at HSBC comprising of a panel on “AI regulation and opportunities for financial services in Hong Kong” and the launch of the FTAHK AI Strategic Advisory Council.

Our brand-new Council brings together visionaries from banks, professional services companies, academia, startups and technology companies to harness the transformative power of AI in financial services. Together, we’re set to redefine industry standards and share best practices, ensuring that we embrace this technology responsibly and effectively.
We are honored to have had Raymond Chan, Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) Executive Director (AML and Enforcement) and Henry Tsang, Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) Director Intermediaries (Intermediaries Supervision) provide opening remarks giving colour to the HKMA’s request for bank’s plans on adopting AI to combat suspicious transactions and SFC’s subsequent circular on use of Gen-A.I. language models.
