The event kicked off with a presentation on the global AI regulatory landscape, featuring perspectives from the organization's leading legal practitioners in the UK, Hong Kong, and their associated firm in Guangzhou. The experts dove deep into the complexities of AI regulations and discovered how they would shape the future of businesses. They shared insights into the EU AI Act, which had extra-territorial effect, and explored why and how the Act would affect businesses in Hong Kong.
Following the presentation, two groups of panelists, comprising Stephenson Harwood lawyers and external speakers, shared their insights and experience on best practices for implementing AI in organizations and the impact AI had (and would continue to have) on their businesses. The first panel uncovered the best practices for responsible AI and issues of data protection and cross-border data transfers. The second panel explored the impact of international AI regulation on businesses, what lay ahead, and how organizations could prepare for these changes.
