Participants agreed that Hong Kong is well on its way to reaching its goal of a green finance and Greentech center and can also learn from some of the best practices in other jurisdictions to realise that ambition faster. Discussions included case studies from Europe, use-case of AI in sustainability, SME lending practices from Africa and green fintech ecosystem building initiatives in ASEAN. There was an interesting response from one of the panelists to a question on the future of sustainability - "Recent developments are good as it means that the tourists are dropping off from the ESG bus and the ones which remain on the journey are the genuine practitioners which is good for the future of sustainability".
